State’s Groundwater Management Initiatives Yield Impressive Results
The state government’s innovative policies and efforts towards groundwater management have led to a significant improvement in Rajasthan’s ranking in the Atal Bhujal Yojana. Once ranked seventh, the state has now climbed to the third position. This progress highlights the effectiveness of the state’s approach to conserving and managing its vital groundwater resources.
One-Day Training Program Highlights the State’s Commitment
Addressing a one-day training program organized by the State Program Management Unit, Jaipur, under the Atal Bhujal Yojana, the Groundwater Minister emphasized the state’s dedication to improving groundwater management. The event, held at the State Agricultural Research Center, Durgapura, was a platform to discuss and enhance the strategies being implemented in the state to conserve groundwater.
Key Objective: Behavioral Change in Water Conservation
Launched on December 25, 2019, the Atal Bhujal Yojana is currently operational in 17 districts of the state. The main objective of the yojana is to foster a behavioral change among the public towards water conservation in areas identified with depleting groundwater levels. The program aims to involve the community actively in preventing the decline of groundwater levels through sustainable practices and awareness.
